Ana Sheyla Maturell Hernández (b. 2003, Havana, Cuba) is a Cuban painter and printmaker whose emerging practice encompasses painting, printmaking, and drawing. From an early stage in her artistic development, she has explored the female figure as a recurring presence through which themes of identity, resilience, memory, mortality, and transformation are examined.

Her exhibition history began while she was still young and has continued through presentations in Cuba and the United States. She participated in projects associated with the 13th Havana Biennial in 2019 and the 14th Havana Biennial in 2021, followed by exhibitions including Subconscious and Class-Room V in Havana in 2022.

Her work subsequently entered an international context through exhibitions in New York, including Imperfect Beings at KuBe Art Center and Women at Work in 2023, followed by her solo exhibition Wanted Dead and Alive at ChangoLife Arts, KuBe Art Center, Beacon, New York, in 2024. Her work was also presented by Roselle Gallery at Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary and Hamptons Fine Art Fair in 2024.

As her practice continues to develop, Maturell brings together autobiographical experience, symbolic imagery, and an ongoing investigation of the female figure. Her emerging body of work reflects a generation of Cuban artists engaging personal experience through contemporary approaches to painting, drawing, and printmaking.
